Embroidery stitches a design into the fabric with thread rather than laying ink on top of it. The result is a raised, textured finish that reads as more formal than a print, which is why it is the usual choice for corporate uniforms, polo shirts, jackets and caps. Because the design is thread rather than a coating, it does not crack or peel with washing.
Buyers often search for embroidery printing when what they mean is a stitched logo rather than an ink print. Esping does both, and will say which suits your garment. Digitising: The Step That Decides How a Logo Stitches
An embroidery machine cannot read a logo file. Before anything is sewn, the artwork is digitised, which means converting it into a stitch file that tells the machine the stitch type, direction, density and sequence for every part of the design. Digitising matters for three practical reasons:
- It is a one-off per design. Once a logo is digitised, the same file is reused for reorders, so repeat uniform runs do not repeat that step.
- It decides how small detail behaves. Fine lines, thin text and tight gradients behave differently in thread than in ink, so some designs are simplified at this stage.
- It drives the stitch count, which is the main input into the price.
Esping reviews the artwork and flags anything that will not hold at the intended size before the file is approved.
Cost Drivers in an Embroidery Order
Embroidery is priced differently from printing. The number of colours has little effect, because the machine changes thread without a new set-up per colour. What matters is how much thread goes into the garment.
Logo width
The standard rate is based on a logo approximately 3 to 3.5 inches wide. A wider logo covers more area and needs more stitches.
Stitch count
The direct measure of machine time, and the main driver of the unit price.
Artwork complexity
Dense fills, outlines and small text all raise the stitch count.
Number of positions
A chest logo plus a sleeve name is two separate embroidery runs.

Embroidery is the process of digitising artwork into a stitch file and sewing it into fabric with thread. It creates a raised, textured logo with a professional finish, and it is commonly used on corporate polo shirts, uniforms, jackets and caps.
An embroidered logo generally outlasts the garment it sits on, because the thread is stitched into the fabric rather than coated onto it, so there is no ink layer to crack, peel or wash away. Wash the garment inside out in cold water and iron around the stitching rather than over it.

Esping embroiders both garments it supplies and specific items requested by the customer, covering T-shirts, polo shirts, jackets, caps and bags. Send the garment type, quantity, artwork and logo position to start a quotation.
Embroidery is approximately RM4 to RM5 per logo, based on a standard logo width of approximately 3 to 3.5 inches, plus a block charge of approximately RM80 to RM120 per logo. Beyond that, cost follows the logo width, the stitch count and the complexity of the artwork, not the number of thread colours. Esping machines run up to nine colours at once and the colour count does not change the price, so simplifying a dense design lowers the cost more than reducing its colours. The final quotation is subject to design, size and quantity.
The minimum order quantity for embroidery is 50 pieces. Smaller quantities are usually better handled with DTF printing.
Send high-resolution artwork, with vector files (AI or EPS) preferred, because they scale cleanly when the design is digitised. Very fine text and thin lines may need enlarging or simplifying so they hold their shape in thread, and Esping will flag this before the stitch file is approved.
A sample can be produced on order confirmation, or against a sample fee. Sampling is listed at 2 to 3 days on the current service page, and it is where thread colour, logo size and placement are approved before the full run begins.
